Sterilizing Nipples

How many of you bottle feed your babies?
That many WOW! and here I thought the Le Leche league had taken over and I was the last mother in the civilized world who bottle fed her babies.
How many of you actually boil the nipples as you where told to do by the Nurses in the hospital?
ALL of you, for goodness sake that's a step you can cut out of your life and save some (precious) time.
Nipples do NOT need to be boiled. With my first child I religiously boiled the nipples, taking out the pot, filling it with water and boiling the nipples is a chore. Most of the time you forget they are on the stove and you end up melting them and than going out to the store to buy more. An expensive and time consuming task to say the least.
Well here is a hint the Hospital will not tell you. If you have a dishwasher with a sani rinse or other high temperature option that is all you need. Simply put the nipples on the top rack, or if you have it, a covered silverware container, select the sani rinse, or other high temperature option, and wash them with your regular dish wash and Voila sanitized nipples without the extra fuss!
Remember if you are using the heated dry option put the nipples on the TOP rack or you will end up with a glob at the bottom of your dishwasher!

If you have a question, comment or would like to share a parenting tip please post it, I will try to answer questions in a timely fashion.
Peace,
Angie
